Within the FIS-funded project Generic Reasoning, directed by prof. Federico L.G. Faroldi, the Center for Reasoning, Normativity and AI (CERNAI) at the University of Pavia, Italy will advertise (in the Fall) several postdoctoral positions, starting in Spring 2026, for 2-3 years.

The project team will study generic reasoning from the point of view of (formal) semantics and philosophy of language, logic (esp. truthmaker semantics), philosophy of cognitive science or metaphysics, philosophy of law/normativity/formal ethics, and AI/philosophy of AI (e.g. reasoning in LLMs).

The salary is in line with Western European standards, and there is the possibility of teaching and of PhD co-supervision.
